I snapped a few pics at the 'smith today. They're a bit blurry. I had no tripod. It's not mine :-( R. Schuler 16-16-8x57rim - Top cocking indicator for the rifle and the hammer pins are the indicators for the shotgun. http://home.pipeline.com/~shootz/misc/schuler/schuler-16-16-8mm-4.jpg http://home.pipeline.com/~shootz/misc/schuler/schuler-16-16-8mm-5.jpg http://home.pipeline.com/~shootz/misc/schuler/schuler-16-16-8mm-6.jpg http://home.pipeline.com/~shootz/misc/schuler/schuler-16-16-8mm-7.jpg

Did you recently purchase it off GunBroker? It is a beautiful Classic drilling, for sure. I wish it were in my safe, and you had a better one.

Very fine craftsmanship. Notice how the screw slots all point the same direction. One of the painstaking efforts that make these firearms sooo special. Everything is hand fitted. I had the extreme pleasure of visiting Herr Scheiring's shop in Ferlach Ostereich some 30 years ago. I was surprised to see the amount of young people he had working there. If you listen closely you don't hear much machinery running. It's all or most handwork. Yes they are expensive but you are receiving a firearm that is superior, you are also receiving a work of art. Best wishes, Bill
