What's the deal with the digital serial numbers
I ran into a claimed "Brazilian" 7mm VZ24 today with a new serial number in a white dot matrix pattern. al la "ser 1234567"

What the deal, are they newly imported?

Some of the importers like to put their own serial numbers on the guns. The fed says every gun has to have a serial number whether it is original their own.

the "digital" SNs are in response to the importer and SN being clearly marked on all imported guns-- 1994 seems to ring a bell for date
