I stopped by my favorite pawn/gun store today and was checking out his military section and he had 2 7.7 Arisakas that had been somewhat sporterized.. one of them had the original stock that had been cut off and the other one actually had a decent piece of wood and still had the open sites on it and a turned down bolt that somebody had smoothe the backside on it. Looking at these rifles really made me appreciate my Custom (not going to use the term sporterized anymore when talking bout mine) Before I bought mine I had never really looked at them before. Somebody did a GREAT job on mine. I would really like to find a nice 6.5 also. These rifles have got me hooked!!

There are a bunch of really bad sporter jobs out there but they can sometimes be had for a reasonable price. With a little know how and money they can be salvaged into some nice rifles. Check out what is on gun broker some time and you will see what I mean. When I look at military rifles I see actions, if there is a good stock that is a bonus.
