| Are you sure it is 7.62x39? Many were converted to 7.62x51. Sporterized, depending on the quality of the work and how well it feeds, $150 to $250. Maybe less, maybe more. Aut vincere aut mori |

| Roger, I have a Mexican SR 98 that was converted to 7.62x39 by Century. It simply has a block at the back of the magazine and a short plastic follower. The extractor (claw) of course was lengthened to grasp the case and keep it from falling off the oversized boltface. It works surprisingly well. I bought the rifle as a donor action and of course it shoots so well that I haven't made anything nice out of it, lol. Personally, I think a .300 Savage would be a better conversion. There used to be lots of conversion kits around to turn SR Mausers into 7.62x39's. Aut vincere aut mori |

| Yumastepside, a follower and spring from a Ruger 77, in 220 swift/7.62x39 works just fine and a spacer block to fill the space behind the follower. Mine holds 5 down and feeds smooth as silk.
