Back a few years ago 2000-2005 I was running into these 98 Turks from anywhere between 50.00-75.00, so I bought a few of them. This is the first one of them to get a make over.

Best looking Turk I've ever seen and love the stock! Did you bend the bolt handle or cut and weld?

Both, I cut off just the ball on the handle and welded another ball with about 3/8" shank on it to lengthen the hole bolt handle, then forged over.

If I remember right it's a gentry safety.

Nice job and a good choice in chambering.

It is hard to believe that was an old Turk. Too bad you did not have before and after pics.

Great looking piece of walnut. Nice metal work too. Tasteful, not over done but a knockout all the same. DW

Thanks guys,

DeerSkinner, It looked like any other G.I. Turkish 98 Mauser looks when I started, and next time I will take progress photo's.

fla3006, glad you like it. I thought it came out pretty decent for giving up my free time for a couple of months. And man does it shoot.

dwheels, for a Richards Microfit stock it is extremely fancy, since those pictures were taken I have reworked the stock a bit. I got rid of the square boxy Parker Hale type forend, and reworked the grip to make it a better looking and fitting stock, added a shadow line under cheek piece, and soon to be checkered. I'll have to get some new pictures as soon as it's done.
