I went to my buddies store today with my dad to check on the arrival of my remmy mountain gun. When I walked in he was just putting a new rifle on the rack. I went over and took a look at it and it was a ruger 77 mk2 in 3006. It was the all weather version and the stock had been dipped in hardwoods camo and there was also a bushnell scope in place. The price tag he had just hung on it said 425! I immediatly started rethinking my gun situation and decided that 425 scoped and dipped was alot better than 600 plain and no glass. So i am now the proud papa of a very nice ruger in 3006 with a grat camo job. I do plan on putting a leupold 2x7 on it sometime but I want to see how the bushnell shoots. Ill let yall now how she does on the range.

Congradulations on your new addition. You know, load that 30-06 up with some 150 grain pills and the deer will never know the difference between being shot with it and a 270. And when the call comes, it will drive 180 grain and larger bullets about 100 fs less than a WSM.

What kind of Bushnell do you have on there? Ive used their products for years, always liked their optics on every one Ive ever used, but the lesser ones arent as mechanically well made as I like. My latest Bushnell scope is their Legend and I really like it! I wish they would have made them 15 years ago. The long eye relief, outstanding optics and functionallity are a nice step up from the Kmart stuff they are unfortunatley noted for. Trophys are nice too but I like the power ring on the Legend better.

I would have thought $175 a fair price for a Ruger with a Bushnell!

I dont know were in on Gods green earth you'll find one in the condition of mine for that price. The camo dip alone is valued at 120 and the gun is like new. I dont think its been shot 50 times.

The scope is a sportsman. I am going to replace it with either a leupold or nikon monarch 2x7

Sounds like a great find. I'm thinking about making a Ruger my next rifle purchase, although it probably won't be any time soon. I've got to get my son fixed up this year with his first centerfire rifle.
