Light bullet for M1 Garand

Was thinking about a light bullet for use in a M1 Garand for reduced course competition (100yds). Any experiences with this, I would love to hear about. Thanks

many moons ago when we were teens we used to load up 100 gr speer plinkers behind a case full of 4831 because that was the cheapest thing we could do. we'd go out jackrabbit hunting with that load in m1's. they functioned find and sure blew the chit out a wabbit

Not sure what the pressure would be from the load recommended above, but one needs to be careful about having too high a port pressure and potentially bending the op rod.

Might consider that bullet or any other 110-130 grain varmint-type bullet with 4895/4064 powder or other powder with similar burning rate.
