Anyone read about a home made bullet at 249 gr from a Tokarev case with lead core? It was on Gunboards Swedish civilian and sporting firearms forum. Quite interesting. I'm always interested in economical ammo for my 9.3s. Packy

Sounds like too much friggin work to me. I have tons of the old Speer 250 grainers but I mostly use the Prvi Partizan 285s. I can't see the advantage of lighter bullets in this round (in my open sighted rifles). And the Prvi bullet shoots REAL well in my 9.3x57's.

Why bother ? the pp's are pretty economically priced and are just the berries for the 9.3x57

What if politics makes the supply dry up in five or six years? Have you seen many bullet molds in a .366? I have three friends to feed in 9.3 and want to pass them on to kids and grands. They will be able to use the data if they wish. Packy

Speer,Barnes, Swift, Nosler, Woodleigh, North Fork all make intermediate weights for the 9.3's. so why bother.

Packy,

I have a four-cavity NEI that drops two each, 265 and 305gr GC bullets. We'll probably do a group buy on the Cast Boolits website (wwwcastboolits.com) as soon as we get a few others done. You might get your thoughts posted there in the next couple of days. Lightweight, 225-240gr, or a 250-285gr...?

Nosler's 250 grain accubond is a natural for this.....reloading isn't at all difficult.

Try the GS Customs 230 gr. HP, its a gee whiz killer of elk, deer and plainsgame up to and including Eland and it will penetrate right along with any 300 gr. bullet.

I also like the 320 gr. Woodleigh, but only in my 26" barrel loaded to a 10 shot ave. of 2400 FPS with 56.5 grs. of RL-15. This is max, cut 10% and work up, some can go higher others can't get there.

right on there Ray, but if you already cast, they are only about nine cents apiece, with gascheck.
I prefer to categorize myself as value-conscious, cheap has such a tacky connotation.

I do have the desire to make an economical bullet. As I am the lowest paid at what I do, a dubious honor at best, African hunting is a big joke. Not even a dream any more. Some didn't read my posts. If the political climate for shooting supplies gets worse, then I want to be able to shoot my 9.3s. Both of them are fun guns and have some different purposes. Thanks for the information I. S. Packy,

never let it drop beyond a plan for the future...we all have to have a dream to make it worthwhile to get up and go to work every day.

Someday...

Bit hard to do if GSC-Sa (and their appointed dealers around the globe) dont answer emails repeatedly send to them concerning availability & purchase of such.

I'm trying to obtusely refer to the Democrats and their antigun folks. What happens if they get components limited. Then even the rich and arrogant won't have the availability of GS,Barnes, Swift, Nosler, Northfork, ....and the other high priced fodder. What do you do then to shoot a mid weight 9.3 projectile? I think you would do well to have a bullet mould for one of every caliber gun you might shoot. Make it a good all around size and style of projectile and you are in business. What bullet caster is ever completely out of lead in some form? Just an idea. I think to Idaho Sharpshooter, I should say that my dream shifted to Argentina a few years ago and is more feasable for me. The Corrections in Misery will NEVER give us a proper raise. I'm looking for extra work, probably armed warehouse security. $17 to $19 per hour looks good to me. Good luck to all. Packrattusnongratus
