My standard load is 7828, max grains of 90 - this is over nosler published max of 85 with the 200 grain partition - my rifle has a long throat, I seat bullets way out there and it shows no indications of high pressure. Have never fired in hot weather however, that would make a significant difference. I use a 4.5 X 14 Leupold Vari- X III on top, nice long range rig. Recently installed in a BC medalist stock, need to tinker a bit with action screws and barrel clearance still. I believe this cartridge deserves the 200 grain bullet instead of the 180; break in the barrel carefully, clean per Pacnor recommendations and use JB bore cleaning compound, will allow easier cleaning in the future and may assist in getting better grouping. Have fun KMule

I have had the best luck with 180gr bullets ahead of 96gr of reloader 25.I have taken four elk ,two moose and a deer with this combo so far and the results have been quick, clean ,one shot kills.I personally will not be using any heavier bullets as they just aren't required.I use 3x10x42 swarovski scopes on my ultramags and find this plenty of power for shooting out to 500 yards. TrapShooter, Depends on what your gonna do with it. The 180gr. is probably the best all around bullet for the 300 but I got mine strictly for deer hunting (at the moment) and I'm using the 165gr. Nos. Par. and a case full of RL-22 with excellent results.
