I have a Yugo M48A. Can this rifle be sporterized as a 35 Whelen? Will the action cycle 35 Whelen cartridges? 8mmFan

If your ifle is a large ring 98 mauser,in 8X57 it sure can be. The action is a littl short but a good smith can open it yp for you and itwon't cost you much either. Mine is built on a 98 action and I like it!!!

The Yugo would be a poor choice for 30-06 based cartridge.

A VZ24 would be better, with it's longer action, but the magazine well would still have to be opend up in length.
