Owned by a friend of mine who bought it used 20yrs ago and now wants to buy something newer and lighter. The receiver is marked. The letters REM are visible under the scope base. No markings at all on the barrel. Caliber is 30-06. What is the lever marked ON/OFF for? The safety lever is stamped BUEHLER on its trailing edge. The bottom of the bolt knob is flat and has been checkered. Is it a remington? Parts gun? Any thoughts? Its in pretty rough condition but is totally functional and killed another deer this year. Any thoughts on value. (sorry for the poor cell phone pics)

Yep 1903. Sporterized. Looks like a Fajen stock. That lever is a magazine cut off , stops the bolt from going all the way back to grab another round out of the magazine. The buehler safety is aftermarket, a modification to allow for use of a scope, the original safety crossed all the way over like a mauser.

Awful rifle......send it to me I will dispose of it properly Big Grin

Depends a lot on local pricing but 275$ to 375$
Would need more pictures to narrow that down.

Actually it is a Remington made 03-A3; plenty strong, a good hunter, worth $300 +/- $50

Thanks for all the help. She sold the rifle to a family member for $200 and is buying a SS Ruger in .308. Everybody is happy!
