Hi,
I just got my new rifle, a really nice old Mauser M98 in the likewise old caliber 9x57 Mauser.
From the seller I got the information that it was an old Mauser Obendorff (the original ). But upon further check (i.e. when I got the gun in my hand) it seems that it is manufactured by Geco, not Mauser.

Geco - I have seen that they do pistols and revolvers. Based in Berlin I have also heard.
But I am unable to locate them. When I search the web there seems not to be a official homepage. Google can not find it at least.

Are there anyone here that can help me, Webpage, e-mail, snailmail address, telephone number? Anything is welcome.

Best regards
Honour

I have a box of .45 ACP ammo manufactured by Geco in the early 1980s. I never knew they were a gunmaker!

I have only seen Geco pitol ammo lately.

I think that the brand names Geco and DWM are owned by Dynamit Nobel or RWS

Alf pretty much gave you the story.

Check your bore. I have a Geco made rifle with the barrel marked 9x57 however, it is in reality a 9.3x57 which suits me fine.

Geco seems to have made far more .22's than sporting centerfires. Mine reminds me of the old Husqvarna sporters only with a better stock. In other words, a nice rifle.
