Just got off the phone with my "smith" and he informs me he is finished with my new CZ 550FS in 9.3 X 62. He found no bedding in the stock but assured me that has been taken care of. He also tricked out the trigger. He said by simply adjusting it, you either had a really good set or a really good regular, but not both. A couple of springs and some magic it now sports an A plus for both functions. The action is honed to perfection he assured me and is really anxious for a "under fire" test and report. The only problem now is he won't be home for three more days for me to pick it up. I have four loads ready to test with the Barnes .250gr and 286 gr. along with Nosler partition .286gr and the PRVI 286's. Weather permitting all should be a go for this weekend?? Just three months to the day and I will be off to Nambia. Still debating the scope set up and thanks to all who gave information on this factor on another thread.

I just purchased this same rifle this weekend. What all did you have done to the rifle? I haven't shot mine yet but I can't wait.

Slim- As I menioned, bedded the stock, reworked the trigger, slicked the action. Until I shoot it nothing more. Hopefully after the shots are fired nothing else will be needed.

This is from my second range trip after inital sight in and such. Shot at 100 yds, benched on sand bags. Upper left is Barns 286 (53.5grs. 4895); upper right is Barns 250 (56grs. 4895); lower left is 286 Nosler partition (54grs. 4895); lower right 285 PRIVI.
Everything I feed this CZ fullstock in 9.3 X 62 seems to be right on. I will now concentrate on the 250 Barnes X and the 286 Nosler partition for final prep to Namibia in May.

Here is a shot of the final product, with the Leo 1 3/4 X 6 held on by Warne DT's. I also have a Zeiss 3 X 9 ready for the longer stuff setting in the same Warne DT's.

Every thing is looking really good for the trip. As a favor, consider whacking a buff with the PRVI load, even if he is already dead, bust him in the appropriate spot for us and do an autopsy to see what the wound channel looks like. Ditto a pic of the recovered bullet. I have not heard any ancedotal evidence as to the quality and performance of the load. It is obvious from the target that it groups very well. Did you get to chrono the stuff?

Rich - I don't know that I will be able to get 'test' results on a buff, but may well be able to try on zebra, kudu or eland. Like yourself I would really like to get some hard facts on that PRVI bullet. Thanks for your imput.
