Guys, Just got the new Woodleigh catalogue and it's all medium bore stuff. Recommended impact velocities are in brackets. New for 2009: 270Win 180gr PP SN (1900-3000) 338Federal gets a 180gr and 200gr PP SN. (1900-2800) 348Win gets a 250gr FN SN (1800-2500) Saving the best till last: 35cal gets a 225gr, 250gr and 275gr (1800-2600)all in the PP SN configuration. I'd have loved a 275gr RN ... but beggers can't be choosers. With 3 35cals to feed and another 2 in the planning, the 35cal pills are a welcome addition! Cheers... Con

YES!!!!! I've especially been wanting a 225 gr Protected Point in .35 caliber! I don't know if the 275 gr PP will stabilize in the 1-16 inch twist of my two .35 Whelen rifles (one Ruger and one Rem) but I'm definitely going to try them out! Thanks for the heads up!!! Cheers! -Bob F.

I'm more than moderately sure they will stabilise in the 1 in 12 twist of my 358 Norma. Now all I have to do is get them from Aus to NZ. The importer only orders when he has enough of a shipment to make it worth jumping thru the hoops the Australian bureaucracy demands of such things nowadays. Long gone are the days when I could order from Woodleigh direct. Steve

the .277 180 grainer just might trip some elk hunters triggers as well! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I love my .270 Win but will a 180 grain bullet stabilize in my rifle? Seems like a 180 grain might be a little long for a 1:10 twist in a .270?

Just ordered some 35 250's and more of the 300 SS 375's. Got the Christmas free shipping too. Great bullets. sure wanted to get some of the 225 338's but hey after $152 for 100 pellets, a man's gotta rest a little.

C'mon Bob, we're a bit slow down-under mate! No pictures in the new catalogue anyway, they're just listed in a table form with no pretty pictures. I'll make an enquiry about availability in a fortnight or so, but I think they've rolled off the presses as a mate told me he was onto the 338Federal pills about 2 months ago. Cheers... Con

Con, OK, good deal. Heck, I can do without the pretty pictures! I just wish the bullet list on the web site listed the new bullets. (And that MidwayUSA would list them on their web site so I can order some of the new .35 caliber bullets!! ) Cheers! -Bob F.

YES!! Another 225 for my 358 Winnie. I have been bummed since I found that 225 NBTs are too long. I have had great luck with Sierra 225s, but looking to try something different just for giggles. Lou **************** NRA Life Benefactor Member

WOW!! That's great new on the 358 bullets!! I will have to get some 250gr and 275gr for my new Lon Paul custom built 350 Rigby. It has a 1-12 twist so it should like the heavier bullets. Con: What are the other two 358 bullets Woodleigh is planning??? Thanks!!

I was unclear ... I have another two 35cals rifles in the planning/getting bits stage ... a 303/35 on a No4 and the 358CRG (35/300RCM) which will probably go into my M70 PF 358Win. Cheers... Con

Hi Con! Can you email the new Woodleigh catalog if we PM you with an email address? Or post it here? Thanks! Jack

Con That 303/35 on a #4 sounds like the ultimate hound rifle, you leaving it standard or doing a improved version?

Does that make my 270 the equal of a 30 caliber then?

Nope, it's still a sub-caliber needle blower.

sambar02, Strictly standard. Done that way a set of Lee RGB dies opened work perfectly and it almost becomes a straight case about equal to the 356Win ... but with a 10shot magazine and slick action. Mine will end up like this: RamLine stock, 20" barrel with open sights, painted for weather resistance with maybe the ability to mount a Scout style scope. Cheers... Con
