If you shoot a moose with a 30-378 weatherby and with a hard 180 grain bullet swift or barnes x at 3400 f/s will it do a much bigger hole than a 308 win becauce the higer velocity...?

What do you guys think will the higer velocity do a better effect on game on 50 yards...?

Overkill, at 50 yards, I think the problem would be keeping the bullet together from the 30-378. At that distance, a 308 Win will kill as dead as can be most anything you care to shoot. Anything more in a 308 bore is just a waste of energy. FWIW - Dan

Mo velocity= Mo Moose. You know this! Why ask? Have you tried a 30-50BMG at 50 yrds? Much Mo Moose!
