pharaoh2I think I've found my new rifle.
I'm going to try to make it up to Calgary tommorow or Saturday. That is if this bloody snow lets up. Otherwise, I'll have to mail-order it. It's a Parker Hale 30-06. The stock's rough and has been shortened. But apparently, it's not cracked. I'm going to refinish it anyways and can always put a new recoil pad with a spacer or two on it. I can't wait to get started on it this weekend. (Damn snow!)

Snow? In Canada? In January?
Who'da thunk it??

The stock refinishing job sounds like a nice little winter project. Have fun!

pharaoh2Yeah. And I thought we gave it all to the states. Huh, what do you know! I decided against the Parker-Hale. It was a bit too rough. Instead I bought a nice post 64 model 70 in 30-06. It's quite clean and only requires minor touch ups. I'll probably sand it and oil it, but later. Now I just have to decide on a scope. A VX-I, an Elite 3200. Both 3-9's, or a Weaver K-6. Now only if I can save my rubles for a few more weeks...
