Well, my FFL said he would like to see me shoot the 6 pound scoped rifle, to see whether I would want to shoot it a second time!!! Wasnt near as bad as feared, although I do not like the bench sitting at the range. prefer shooting standing up over the hood of a truck. Took about 40-50 shots trying a bunch of factory and handloads to break in the rifle and to try out the ladder test theory with 293 tugs and Reloder 19. It is a good kick, not as bad as shooting a 12 gauge from an aimed sitting position, but also not as good as shooting my 10 pound SXS in the same caliber! The anticipation and joy of thinking about carrying it across the Idaho ridgetops next month made every ounce of recoil seem like a pound of prevented pain. The groups of swift A framers at 300 grain were one and a quarter inch. RWS Factory TUGS were a bit more, and some of my handload TUGS were a bit less. Lighter bullets did not do any better, based on the few shots apiece from factory stuff like NORMA and RWS. Hard to separate a new barrel, a new shooter, a new bench position, and several loads. But it did shoot as well as one inch group for three shots, with several loads, so there is hope and expectation. However, as my shooting buddy said after pounding off a six shot string: "nice little rifle, definitely a hunting gun and not a target gun!!" Thanks for the input regarding the weight distribution issues. A decelerator pad is going on next week. Jameister

I think a standing bench is fine for sighting in for "hunting accuracy" this how I sight in my hard kickers. I would one day like to build up a nice light heavy hitting rifle like yours congratulations.
