I'm looking for a high BC / polymer tipped 175 grain. I've always used Nosler but may want to switch. Nosler told me several years ago that a 175 grain Accubond was in the works. Now they say that they have no immediate plans for it. Thanks in advance.

I don't think anyone makes it.....I reverted back to the 160 Accubond for that reason for my .280 Remington

BHB, Nosler is up to their eyeball just trying to keep up with the demand for their current offerings. Although they try to offer a few new products each year, I wouldn't expect this one to be high on their list.

Like VD, I shoot alot of the 160gr AB's, but out of the 7 STW.

AS, also loading for a 7 STW. I like the 160 AB over Retumbo. Have you used the 160 AB for black bear at extended distances? I was wanting maybe a beefier bullet. Thanks.

I sure understand that Bighorn. I'd like to see Nosler make a 175gr BT in 7mm. It would be a long bullet, and it would take up alot of powder capacity in the smaller 7's, so I don't expect to see one any time soon.
I've shot deer an antelope everywhere from 25 to 1000 yards with the 160gr AB. At close range the enterance wounds can be the size of a cantelope, but once you get out to 300+ it's a very clean killer. I think it's about the only 7mm bullet used in our elk camp, it's just that consistant. No, I haven't shot any bears with one, but I sure wouldn't hesitate to use it.

I was insiustant on a 175 grain bullet in my .280 as well.....and am now convinced that the 160 AB is as good or better choice for range and terminal consequences.

At 100 yards, your terminal performace will be about the same as mine at 300. Out of your .280 fm 100 yards, out to...well....as far as you care to shoot (your not one of the long range nuts like I am), I just don't think you can beat it.

Few years back I picked up some of the red tip seconds for $11.50 per 50. All the performance, at half the price.

Thanks for the responses. I'll stick with the 160 AB for now.

I'd go with the 160 accubond, as you say.
But the 175 partition doesn't have a 'low' BC at .519. Would be a good pick for plains game, elk, bears, etc.
Heard that there will be a Barnes LRX 168 grain coming next year...
