I have two, 300 Win Mag and 30-06, nice and light and great when carrying all day. Both are very accurate with the 300 being exceptional. Recoil is very managable even though they are light. I wish they still made them.

I have a 300 WM and friends shoot a total of about 13 more and they all shoot well and have been trouble free. My 300 is now resting in a NULA stock that Mel makes to fit the Colt rifle and it is ever bit as nice as the real deal. I don't know what they sell for now; I've heard around 600-700 but there should still be some somewhere for less. Retail was supposed to be close to $1800.00 before Colt shelved the project. I suppose anything can break but the most fragile part would be the trigger and any Remington aftermarket product will pin in a Colt Light Rifle just like a NULA. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

I am not in the US but I see them advertised on Guns America for less than $600. I remember that Ultralight arms was bought by Colt about 10 years ago & made these rifles. Melvin Forbes was a partner or an employee in this project after he sold ULA. Then colt had some product liability issues & stopped making these rifles. Forbes went back to his own gun business but called it New ultralight arms. I had always wanted one of those rifles but could not get them here for a reasonable price. So I got myself a Kimber Montana. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."
