For a short action round, I'd go between 20 and 22", and the difference in velocity between those lengths is nil, ok, 50 fps, but that is nil in the real world. For a twist, I assume you'll be using 225 gr and lighter bullets, so 1-14 is fine, and would be my choice. If you think you might shoot cast bullets, definately go with no faster then 1-14. If you want to try something a bit different, you might want to consider a .357" bore barrel, as Mike 375 has stated several times in reference to the 358 STA, he and some buddies built up several with the slightly smaller bore, and there were extremely insenstive to load variations, ie accurate with most any load or bullet. | |||
