I have a Browning 7mm mag and I just bought some berger vlds bullets. I cant get the proper head spacing case to fit in my magazine what can i do to solve this? I dont want a single shot long range rifle, so i would like to either switch the stocks for one with a longer magizine capacity or mill the current mag. what do you reccommend? please help and Thank you in advance.

I'd think it cheaper to use bullets that do work OK and keep the rifle or if they don't to sell the rifle if you really, really, really must use that bullet.

I can't think of many advantages that in real hunting situations that I experience that the Berger VLD would give me anything that "regular" bullets can't.

But before anything maybe a call to Browning to see what they suggest? Milling and machining costs money and even after all of that may not work.

I concur with the above recommendation.

I agree with enfieldspares.
What is the difference in accuracy between your cartridges and ones that fit the magazine? And, as suggested, there is a whole bunch of effective hunting bullets out there.

What does headspace have to do with your cases fit into your magazine? Very likely, nothing at all.

If you mean that your loaded round will not fit into your magazine, that means the overall length of the loaded ammo is too long. Many handloaders have run into that problem when switching to more streamlined, longer bullets. But it has nothing to do with headspace, just the depth to which the bullets are seated in the cases. There are many ways to handle the problem, including modifying the magazine, but the most common solution is simply to seat the bullets deeper into the cases.

That may make the bullet "jump" farther to reach the rifling when fired, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Lots of rifles are MORE accurate when the bullet is seated a fair distance from the rifling. Early Weatherby rifles had as much as 3/4" of "freebore" before the bullet touched the rifling, but were still plenty accurate.

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

Did you buy Berger bullets(and handload them) OR cartridges---loaded w/ Berger bullets ?
If you are having problems w/ the COL not fitting into your magazine, then shorten the COL.
If you are not a reloader, buy cartridges that will fit in your magazine.
I sense some confusion and/or misused terms here.
