Ackley Improved UserUltimate Longrange Elk Rifle
With modern bullets, range finders, chronographs, and knowledge of external ballistics, one does not need a super magnum to kill elk at very long distances - one needs to be a good shot! A 180 gr. Accubond shot from a 308 into the boiler room of an elk at 500 yds is more lethal than a gut shot from a 378 Weatherby Magnum. Regards, AIU

portwood0341My only advice besides alot of practice is skip the muzzle brake.Use a recoil reducing pad on your shoulder when practicing if you have to.I have heard a 7mmRUM with a brake installed and it was horendous.

Dan HI have a 300 RUM for that purpose. With the 200g accubonds it is both accurate and carrys lots of energy downrange....

Dan
