I do not own the Lazzeroni, but I do own the other 4, the best is Ed Brown taken in consideration workmanship, customer service and delivery time – about 4-6 weeks. A good American made product (very few left)

The name says it all. Of course you will need to use a Hart SS barrel.

Horrible customer service – long waiting time – probably they have to much work filling orders for the government. I waited 11 month’s for a .375 H&H – My Ed Brown .375 H&H is more accurate and better balanced than the HS. Also the Ed Brown absorbs the recoil better.

I think the overall picture in buying is not only the rifle, but the whole package, customer service is very important, a company that keeps their promises about delivery and is courteous and helpful on the phone is all part of the transaction between vendor and customer.

We all know that companies with those values are a dying breed. Buying a nice rifle should be an enjoyable happening and not a frustrating drudge, like many of us have experienced.

I have three Hill County Rifles... a Sheephunter built on a 700 Ti action, a .300 Weatherby and .224 TTH both Classics built on Model 70 actions. All shoot under .5 MOA with the .300 shooting one ragged hole with Federal Premium 180 grain TBBCs. The .224 is almost as accurate and the .280 is not far behind at maybe a .34MOA on my best day. However after Dallas, they are so backlogged Matt just looked at me and said "maybe next year" when I talked to him about a .257 Weatherby!

Tip Burns, Canyon Lake Tx. Then I could buy a couple of rifles for the price of one of those others, and it would be just as accurate. Most folks don't know it, but he has built many super accurate rifles for military/police. ( Psst, Don't tell anybody).

Get in touch with Kevin Weaver of Weaverrifles.com
He is a super nice guy and turns out an extremely accurate lightweight hunting rifle with any custom touches you are looking for. many people on this forum are customers of his. He has built at least one and maybe more rifles for the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Society that they've auctioned off. Give him a call at 719-683-3024
You will get a truly custom rifle at the same cost of the others you've mentioned with personal service and attention to detail.

Talk to Serengeti if what you are looking for is an accurate rifle in a synthetic stock. They have started building rifles using Jerry Stiller's Predator action (with special modifications for Serengeti) of late. The first specimen shot 1/2 inch with factory ammo.

Serengeti stands by their products come rain or shine.

D&D gunsmiths in Troy, mi. Great prices, fast turn around and super accurate reifles. Coleman Rifles in Alabama also does great work, but is very busy now. Kampfield Customs in Clinton, Mi will do you a very fine rifle same as D&D.

A fellow named Rich Bajenski in Mukelteo, Wa. builds rifles. He is a long range expert and he and his gun hold several long range records. He has recently quit the machining business and is concentrating on gunsmithing.
If you want a long range rifle, contact Rich. He also has a world record under his belt, I believe. Makes his own stocks but they are for the big guns used in 1000 yard comp. Idaho Sharpshooter mentioned Steve Kostanich who is my benchrest gunsmith and Steve does great work on both bench guns and the turn bolt guns in the Winchester and Mauser line. Kostanich even makes his own actions. If it goes bang, Steve can work on it or build it. Also makes a hell of a composite stock.

Kirby Allen of Allen Precision Shooting

Why?

He is a long range shooter himself and a 1st class guy.

I personally would rather a smaller more quality minded outfit build me a rifle than one of the big manufacturers that are trying to put them out as fast as possible.

Good Luck

Hey, Nitro
Where abouts do you live? I'm just outside of Sudbury.

I'm having a rifle rebuilt as we speek by Alberta Tactical Rifle. His name is Rick and seems to have quite the following, especially his .50 cal work.

I'll second Reloader's recommendation...

I bought a Kirby Allen 300 RUM secondhand this summer and its a shore nuff shooter (groups as small as .178 inches!!!!). If you're wanting something to poke a long way off, he's your man.

Others to consider would be GA Precision, Longshot rifles, Randy Cain.

Might I also suggest Mark Bansner's Rifles as an option. I don't know how long it takes to recieve a custom rifle, but I can vouche for the quality of his work.

I'll back both Reloader AND 30378. Kirby is a great guy and loves precision. He built one of my rifles.

As for Bryant Custom rifles, the fact is, many OTHER smiths recommend him. That's what happened to me when I tried to get a second rifle built by Greg Richards of Richards Rifle Co. He had to retire for health reasons and recommended Bryant.

John Noveske in Grants Pass, OR builds a hell of a rifle.

Coleman, in Alabama built one of my 270s.

I would also suggest you take a look at Jim Borden's rifles. He's not cheap but he won't sell you something that won't shoot. Same with Jarrett rifles.

You want a big list of A++ riflesmiths?

Just start contacting this list.

You might also consider Lex W. at Rifles Inc.
