I'm restoring a 1953 Winchester mod 70 in 270. I read occasioanlly about "an original Winchester sling" for the pre-64 mod 70's. Is there such a thing and what does it look like?

Only the Super Grades came from the factory with slings. The Standards did not. Kind of hard to describe it exactly--if you have the M70 books by Rule or Whittaker, check them for pictures. The M70 SG slings were not marked "Winchester."

The 458 Super Grade had it's own sling, not the same as the other Super Grades. It was more of a carrying strap.
