DoublessWell, it finally happened...
After about 20 years of dealing with firearms enthusiasts and on-line purchases, I finally got taken. (This was NOT an AR member...)
I bought a 700 LH in 7 Mag as a donor action for a 308 Norma build, and what I got makes me sick.
The entire action has been ground on in just about every conceivable way. The bolt has been ground on, the front receiver ring is beveled/flattened in about a dozen spots (dremel?), even the safety button has been ground on! The serial number is hard to read, the "L" and "H" in 700 LH are all but illegible (the H is completely gone!), and the two screws in the action used to plug the tapped holes for a peep sight are ground down to where they cannot be removed.
In short, I am afraid to fire the rifle, and darned sure won't use it as a donor action.
Here is my question: do any of you know of anyone who would have a use for this piece of junk, maybe as an instructional tool, a practice action for removing a Remington barrel, or something else? It was too expensive to use as a tomato stake; I would be willing to donate it for the cost of shipping...

DoublessWell, after two days, the individual responded and says he will take the rifle back and send a refund. This may end up better than I thought. I will still have to hassle with the shipping piece, but maybe I will recoup most of what I spent.
I am not going to post a name for the above reason. If this doesn't work out, then maybe.
P Dog, if I can get off my fat butt and learn photobucket, I will post a few pics before I send it back.

Blacktailer
Looks like it was on an Alaskan fishing boat for 20 years and somebody's 6 year old decided to clean it up with a file!

.366torque"Why is everybody paying a 'smith BIG money just to lighten up a rifle? Hold my beer and I'll show you how it's done!"
Those words or similar began that atrocity, that I'm sure.

Doublessguys, after two days he contacted me and is supposed to be sending my money back, along with an FFL to send the rifle to.
