The 225 Accubond in 338 win mag has not been entirely controversy free. http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?C...&an=0&page=11#971465 ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

Marianne.... My old .338WM Mauser with a lapped throat and 25 inch lapped barrel takes 73gr imr4350 with 210gr nosler partition, 72gr imr 4350 with 225gr bullet, 69gr imr 4350 with 250gr bullets (all with wmr primers). The 225 hornady sst (sheep, caribou, deer) and swift a-frame (for moose and black bear) run 2900 fps and 2875 respectively (i think that the a-frame jacket is a little tougher). the 210 shoots at 3075 fps and is death on caribou out to 400 yds. the 250gr a-frame runs 2750 fps and is used on brown bear out to 150 yards or so (20 yards is more likely). Note that these are all in MY rifle (with it's polished innards and wider tolerances from lots of use), and with MY scales and eyes, and MY powder storage conditions (extremely low humidity during the loading season and extremely high humidity during most of the shooting season). As always, only a reference. start low and work up. have fun i'd rather be lucky
