| Retumbo is too slow for the 300 Winny. RL-25 is your brew.

| After checking the Hodgdon site and seeing Retumbo giving the best velocities, I tried getting some into a case. Impossible to have even a starting load that is not massively compressed! |

| rcamuglia, Go to the Hodgdon site and check out their reccomendation for a 200 gr. N.P......84 grs. of Retumbo in a Win. case. Try getting all of that Retumbo in the case and then seating the bullet. It can be done, but don't force things. It can be hard on the seater !!! Now, this is a compressed load !!! I have done it and can get 2960 from a 24" barrel with amazing accuracy. Just don't check the pressure in Quick Load, it will scare you. Wish someone could explain this load reccomendation. |

| Never tried Retumbo in my 300WM with 180gr Accubonds or TSX's. Only used RL-22 for load development and stuck with it. From research I did years ago on forum sites, peoples preference was RL-22. Not saying others wont work.
I used Retumbo in my two 270WSM rilfes. One likes a compressed load, the other didn't. |

| Retumbo works with the 180 in the 300 WM, but no better than Re25. In my experience both are close in burn rate. I like 83 grs of Re25 behind a 180 Accubond, but it's max - work up to it. Regards, AIU. |

| 84gr in a 300 win case? Yikes, that sounds FULL! That honestly sounds more like a 300 Wby load.
If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!
