On a whim I picked up a box of 145 gr Speer Grand Slams to try in my 7mm rem mag. I am trying to set it up for Mulies and long range Whitetails.
Does anyone have any experience with this combo and would you share any successful recipes? Thanks

I used the 145 Speer BTails and RE 19, shot very well. Middle of the road load, not full out. Out of a Sako L61. Haven't shot a game animal with it.

I use them in my .280 @ 2950fps & find them a bit tougher than the 145grSP. I'm not sure I would feel comfortable w/ them @ magnum speeds in close though. Try H4831sc under them in your 7remmag. It's always given me exc. accuracy. beer

speers 145 grand-slam will work fine in your 7mag,shot e''m in my ex 7mag a-bolt and they held up great, try r-22 or imr 4831 or imr -4350,you want a little faster burning powder with a liter bullet, good luck...jjmp

You made an excellent choice for deer.I have used the 145gr GrandSlams in my 7mag for over ten years now and have been very pleased with them.I have mine loaded with 65.3gr of IMR 4350 and it chronographs out at 3200fps and I get 1/2" groups with them too. This bullet hits very hard, nearly always instant kills, holds together very well and I have pole-axed whitetails out to 300yards with them.If you do your part, they will not fail you.Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. Going to start trying them in a few weeks after deer season.
