No. The cool molded stock was part of the package/concept.

I don't think it was ever offered in walnut.
I had one in 22-250 and it was the worst shooting new rifle I've ever owned. Used about 6 combinations of bullets and powder and finally had to let it go for the price of the action....and I WAS a Remington fan.
I'll used their actions for a semi-custom build but that's it nowadays.

As I expected. Eh well. No custom shop sporter's were made either I guess. Thought they were way cool when they first came out around 2008.

Sorry you got a lemon Zeke.

Has the be the only inaccurate 700 on the planet. I do think the triangular barrel might be the issue.

A borescope might have told the story on the accuracy of that one. Even high-volume barrel makers like Rem can let one slip through once in a while. I have a Douglas barrel here that had a couple of tiny CM flakes embedded in the rifling. Came out with a 0000 steel wool wrapped nylon brush.
Sure wish the VTR's weren't coated. Seems like it would be a real PITA to remove that stuff.
