Nosler has a 125gr BallisticTip you should try. You should be able to get that going at 3000fps, check the manuals.
Sierra also has a 135gr ProHunter that's meant for 30cal handguns (no more than 2400-2500 fps). I don't know how it would perform if pushed faster.
These should be very pleasant shooting loads. Please post any winning recipes you might create. My father-in-law has an 06 and isn't very fond of big recoil any more. I'm always looking for good ideas.

I carry around a 30.06 as a pick-up gun with coyotes as my main target. Personally, I wouldn't worry about a light load. A broadside shot with a 180 grain Rem corelok and I'll guarantee the coyote will show you the bottom of all four paws on his way down and he wont be getting up. I know this is contrary to popular opinions and I dont mean to stir up a hornet's nest of controversy, its just my opinion and its worth pretty much what you paid for it.
Just shoot what bullet weight you would use in your hunting. This way you will really learn your rifle and trajectory. This will pay big dividends in the Game fields.
