I thought I had everything I needed. But noooooo!!!!! You had to go and post about a lever action 28" 35 Whelen.

I should have my eyes scratched out!!!

The 35 Whelen works well with barrels from 20 to 26", and the 20-25 fps per inch figure is pretty close. Get whatever balances best and puts the rifle's weight where you want it. Mine is 23."

Be sure to to get the twist right for the bullet weight you prefer. 1:12 or 1:14 is probably the best overall choice. Hope this helps, Okie John.

I have one being built right now. It is a LH mauser action with a 23" Douglas barrel @ 1:12 twist. It will have a McMillan stock when finished. I hope to be shooting it by February

Here is the progress so far.......barrel on action, in the white.

ihave a 22" & a 24" they both shoot at basically the same speed.
