This one might seem like a bad deal to some I,m not sure, but I,m prety happy. I sold my pre 64 model 70 featherweight 30,06. Got more than I paid for it but a little less than i wanted,
And I bought(thats almost a trade). A old Sako built browning safari, .243. And I came home with 100.00 to boot,
I put the 2.5X8 VX3 from the 06 in burris z rings on the sako.
Should be a dandy little deer rig...tj3006

It sounds fair to me. The important thing though, if you are happy, then its a great deal.

Assuming no "salt wood", I would take Browning 'Safari Grade' over Olinchester any day. I would have bought ca. 1960 one with "chair-shaped rear sight" myself if it was .375H&H insead of .300H&H. CRYBABY
I did examine heavy barreled 22-250 with 'Forester' action, very nice rifle. thumb
