MY BROTHER HAS PURCHASED A DAKOTA RIFLE MODEL 97 IN 300 WIN MAG. THE PROBLEM IS HE CANNOT GET IT TO CYCLE. IT ACTS LIKE A PUSH FEED JAMMING AND THROWING EXTRA SHELLS OUT SOMETIMES TWO AT A TIME. IT SEEMS LIKE THE TENSION IN THE SPRING IS NOT LETTING IT CYCLE LIKE IT SHOULD. HAS ANYBODY ELSE HAD THIS EXPERRIENCE WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL?

Why doesn't he just call Dakota? No doubt they can tell him what the problem is and if/how he can fix it.

THAT WOULD DEFINITELY MAKE THE MOST SENSE. MY BROTHER HAS WAITED THIRTY DAYS BEFORE A BROWN BEAR HUNT IN RUSSIA. IT MIGHT BE TO LATE TO SHIP THE RIFLE UP THERE AND GET IT BACK. IT IS PROBABLY TO LATE TO GET A DIFFERENT RUSSIAN GUN PERMIT AS WELL.

My point is, if it is something you or he thinks can be fixed via a forum such as this, then surely the people at Dakota can guide him through it over the phone. Quicker, more direct, more sure - I don't see a downside here.

Just curious - What's with ALL CAPS?

That's how many people learned how to use a computer back in the early nineties. Why do most people print in all caps?

DAKOTA IS TAKING THE RIFLE BACK TO FIX IT. IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS.
