You might also look here for some info... http://www.weatherby.dk/index.php It's a pretty new forum so there's only about 500 members but they have some good info there on the 30-378 or any other Weatherby for that matter... I loaded 102gr of IMR 7828, with 180 gr Swifts. This smokes! Start below that, work your way up and check for pressure.

The Weatherby forum is not bad, but I think you'll get more input over here and quicker responses. Good powders for the 30-378 are H-1000, IMR-7828, RL-25, H-50BMG, RL-22, H-4831 (the last two being on the quicker side) and many more. Check the Hodgdon website for Hodgdon and IMR data. Alliant doesn't have any data for it on their site but the Barnes manual does.

Thanks, I joined the Weatherby forum and yes, they are slow. I'm looking for a good 1000 to 1200 yard round.

Specially when you feel the need to get flamed for owning a Weatherby ... Hey Kingfisher, sorry, I couldn't resist.... Ken.... "The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn't so. " - Ronald Reagan
