I am going to put a 30" barrel in 338 RUM on my M700. I estimated that a cylinder shaped barrel will weigh about 8 pounds, a heavy palma about 5-1/4 pounds. The barrel will be profiled for a suppressor 4" from the muzzle, and be fitted into a nice sturdy heavy stock. Total weight will be about 13 pounds with the palma barrel Will the extra 2-3/4 pounds in the thicker barrel help me much in the accuracy department or just help take the edge off of recoil? Thanks.
