With all the talk about Winchesters demise it looks like FN has it all ready thought out.

FN SPR [Special Police Rifle]

The "classic" pre-'64 Winchester design has a massive claw extractor that improves reliability by engaging nearly a 1/4 of the cartridge rim. The controlled round feed feature of this action means that as each cartridge leaves the magazine, the base rises up on the bolt face and the rim is captured between the claw extractor and the opposite edge of the bolt face. Because the case is fully controlled by the bolt as it enters the chamber you are assured smooth feeds every single time. The SPR's three-position safety has a middle position which blocks the firing pin, while allowing the operator to work the action for optimal loading and unloading ease and safety. SPR match grade barrels meet or exceed Mil Spec in all criteria, are hammer forged from a superior alloy and the bores are hard chrome-plated for superior accuracy and long life. Every FN SPR rifle meets a 1 MOA or better accuracy standard. Receivers are drilled and tapped for oversize 8/40 mounting screws and a 1 piece 20 MOA steel M 1913 rail and come standard with McMillan tactical rifle stocks- the highest quality magnum-filled fiberglass stocks available and guaranteed for life. We have a word for all the custom extras you will find in an FN Long Range Precision Rifle... STANDARD.

Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

I looked at one of these the other day here in Fort Smith at the Tackle Box. Across the barrel it said "Made in New Haven Connecticut".
