Thanks for the link. I've been considering having a Hagn singleshot chambered for this for a few years now. I still haven't made up my mind and this link appears to have the ballistic data for a 116 grain bullet, not exactly the ideal hunting weight bullet for a 7mm offering. I would like to read more about the 7x75R VH SE (it's history and use) if anyone has more information. Most of the info I have is from Cartridges of the World. Thanks again, jens

Here are extracs from WB Dixons "European sporting cartridges" The 7x75 Vom Hofe: " Effectively the last of the Vom Hofe designs, this one was based on the 9,3x74 type. Originally concieved c1939, only a trial lot was produced initially(DWM case #605). Gehmann later modified and introduced this caliber commercially after the others Vom Hofe in 1958, manufactured by IWK(cases #616 & 616a). Apart from prototypes, all known examples have the Gehmann hs including the manufacture by Norma after IWK went out of production. German manufacture Wolfgang Romey is also believed to have made this caliber in the 90`s." DRSS: HQ Scandinavia. Chapters in Sweden & Norway

Semi-custom, hard to find and very expensive ammo, with twin ballistics to the 7 Weath. Mag. André DRSS --------- 3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact. 5 shots are a group.

My first contact with the cartridge was through seeing a few of Philipp Oliendorf's singleshots chambered for it a couple of years ago at SCI show in Reno. Before then, I had not heard of it. Since then, I have come under the impression that it was designed from the 9.3x74R parent case. I notice that Huntingdon sells brass for the 7x75R, but have not seen any loaded ammunition in the U.S. I suppose cases can be made from the 9.3x74R and those are readily available, hopefully even more now that Ruger is bringing out the No.1 in 9.3x74R. Rumor is the 9.3x74R is somewhat weaker than brass offered for the 7x75R, but can be used if the other brass sources dry up. I am looking for performance similar to the 7mm Wby/STW, but have a nostalgic streak when it comes to singleshots and think the long rimmed cartridge of German origin would go nicely in a falling block action designed by a German ex-pats, Hagn and Martini.
