Brno M21 and Brno ZG47 was manufactured partly during the same time.
Was the manufactured in the same fabric?
Which one was consider that time the finest?
What was the price when the was sold 1950?
I own a M21 with the same safety as ZG47.

Best regards
Johan

What we know as the 21-22 series were small ring mausers, with 8x60s being the largest factory cartridge. The ZG-47 were large ring mausers available in larger cartridges. The bolt thread should be the same, so the shrouds and safeties should be interchangeable.

Alf
It is the same gun that we were talked about a few months ago.
Do you want me to resend the pictures?
I didn’t like the ZG deluxe stock so I purchased a second hand M21stock.
So it was the same company that manufactured both the 721 and ZG47?
Were these guns expensive at the time?

Best regards
Johan

Gentlemen,
I had Norma factory gun shop makeing me a .404 Jeffery on an ZG 47 Action for nearly ten years ago. They raised the magazine wall with ~1 mm, so the magazine can take 3 .404 rounds. It works very well and i agree about that the ZG 47 is the best Mauser 98 clone action ever made.

Gentlemen

I had a few of each kind. My experince is that the bolt shrould on some of the guns has a different thread. Most have the same as FN commerical mausers. I bought a PME win 70 style 98 mauser safety for one, but it didn't fit [Mad]

The action is very nice, but the down side is that the trigger is not the same as other mausers and the mounts is different. The action is nice but needs soem polishing and to be really nice. The only thing I hate about Zg-47 is the very large trigger guard bow.

Swedes,
Tommys Vapenverkstad in Husqvarna still has some spare parts like screws etc for those early Brno.s.

JOHAN,
I polished my ZG 47 action during one looong dark winter, now it feels like a babys buttock!

BOHA- I noticed it only has one trigger. Did it come that way or did you modify? (a friend has an 8x57 with a single trigger)

It came that way. And it must be an original, nothing is altered. I got it last year off an auction in Sweden. I love the large trigger guard, because it works very well with gloves.
Shoots like a dream; 2670 fps with Sakos old hammerhead 200 grs; 2390 with Woodleighs 250 grs soft point.
I use a couple of mannlichers with set triggers; shot a mallard once using the set trigger. For larger game; no use. IMHO.

Alf,
The VZ-24 is a large ring action and the 21 and 22 are small ring actions, so I would say closer to a G33-40...Also most 21 and 22's were double square bridge, although some are "round top"... so I don't understand comparing them to a VZ24 military rifle or did I miss something in your post??
