I'm trying to decide in a light hunting rifle in 7-08 in one of these. I have a Cooper 21V and love it. I was thinking of a Cooper 22 Classic, but I'm not crazy about the single shot or having to wait around for one to ship. I like the looks of the Sako 75 Hunter also (even better in L/hand), but have no experience with them. I started out wanting a Kimber 84M, but my Kimber "Super Dealer" tells me there are none to be had from the factory right now. I'm also a little nervous about all the bad reports on Kimbers I've been reading (mostly their .22s) and the poor customer service. Does anyone have some first-hand knowledge on any of these and can shed some light? Thanks.

"Poor Customer Service"... I've never heard anyting other than rave reviews about Kimber's Cusomer Service... for the $ I'd do the 84M...

I looked at the Sako and the Kimber and decided to have one made. Am using a Sako L579 action off an old Browning, Douglas air gauge bbl and B&C stock. I think it will have cost me about 1100 when i'm finished. I wish I had just bought a Sako.

Kimbers customer service is excellent. I have a 84M Classic in 7mm-08 and it's ready for hunting. There are plenty of them for sale also. As of yesterday The Armory in New Preston, CT and Cubeta's in Middlefield, CT both have new ones for sale. The price on each is $799. I would expect that with that price the bases are extra. The wood on the one at the Armory is the better of the two.
