I have a Sweede that shoots pretty well, one inch groups, if I do my part. To keep this accuracy I must clean it after about 15-20 shots. It has some slight bore rust (pitting), according to my gunsmith. Can anything be done? thanks, capt david

You might try firelapping. A friend of mine has done a couple of militarys and likes it. It will smooth the bore but will make it slightly larger too.

Also you might try a product called Tetra Gun. It is a bbl treatment that is supposed to lessen bbl fouling.

cd - Cleaning between 15 to 20 shots is not uncommon in order to maintain accuracy. Pitting, while not desirable, does not necessarily mean the end of a bore. If you are going to lap the bore, it is best to have is hand lapped VS firelapping. You might also consider using moly coated bullets to extend shots between cleaning. If you decide to go the moly route, make sure you start with a clean bore and employ a moly cleaning routine.
