Well, I just picked up the new CZ, and although it will be a few days before I can get to the range with it, I have to say I am thrilled. The stock is a nice piece of walnut with nice figure along the comb. Bottom metal is steel, and it has double crossbolts. Haven't checked the firing pin configuration yet, but will do so. The trigger is light and crisp. The rifle handles and points very nicely. I think we will go a-hunting together for wonderful beasts.

I have had mine the grand total of secen days now. Fired the one box of factory Norma with a 286gr spitzer FMJ.

Now, to find some brass so I do not have to get into my stash of 35 Whelen new stuff. The ballistics are all out of proportion to the case size.

I myself am shooting the 9.3x64, however am surprised by the minor power gains! That 9.3x62 is an efficient little bugger. I got some 62's by mistake, which I looked over and they're loaded 110 fps slower than the 64's. They are the RWS TUG loadings.

As to loads, I have a box of 100 virgin Lapua cases, some of the too-soft Speer 270s to start with, and a new set of RCBS dies (Thanks MRLEXMA). I'd like to work up a load with the Nosler Partitions, but I might try some Barnes 250-grain Triple-Shocks as well, for a bit flatter trajectory. Looking at Re15, Varget, maybe H414 powders. But I am always happy to hear about pet loads from experienced 9,3 shooters.

My CZ 550 American 9.3x62 loves Ramshot BigGame. 65gr of BigGame/ 286gr Nosler Partition will punch one hole groups at 100 yards, MV 2450fps.

Speers are fine for pigs and roo's and therefore would work well on smaller deer etc.

I have a lux 9.3x62 with a leupold 2-7 in warne fixed mounts it handles and points very nicely, here is a pic of mine below

I've only used RL-15 but I keep reading good things about Ramshot's Big Game. (John Barsness really likes this powder for the 9.3x62.) I just haven't tried Big Game yet.

it took bloody 13 months for that rifle to come in on special order........................was meant to be the Battue model (thats what I asked for) when it finally arrived my gun dealer said they'd ordered 4 or 5 lux 9.3 cz's in and I could tak one of those or have nothing.....................Australian Gun Trade really cares for there customers , fair dinkum if a consortium of hunters got together whom had plenty of folding gear $$ and could set up a good whole sale operation that cared a bit for the customer and could break the monopoly of Rouge Trade Highpricesland it would go well I reckon.

A brand new Weatherby Accumark in .338-378 would be a fair trade I'd think...............or ayou just getting one drumstick out of that

I spoke to the importers(Olin) regarding getting the same rifle(Battue 9.3,about 12 months ago).
They said no prob's just order through my gun shop & they would do a special order.
They did say they like to get a order of 5 on certain things,but he also did say if I really wanted it(As I told him before hand the $$$$$ I have spent in the past through that company-Olin) they would do a special order.
Being a 9.3 he said CZ should have no quarms in doing that job.But he also said they could take up to 2 years(max),but more likely a year for that special order.
Price was very reasonable,since CZ are dirt cheap anyway,but really at the end of the day it's still only a standard production Battue Lux.Go figure ha.I think it's just that they like importing the cal's that sell fast=30-06,308 etc.

I might give them a call & place an order(Are you keen)?

How does the hogsback handle recoil,I mean does it slap you in the chops.I had an American CZ that handled sweet,but I have never had the chance to play with a hoggy.

My 340 Accumark handles recoil better than any other rifle I've owned,but Weatherby did do a hell of a job designing that stock

Mmmmmmm an American with a 22" barrel(With open sights as backup) would be just about perfect I reckon .Would be a very easy mod.
Get my Smith to dock the barrel/recrown,open sights as well as a bedd/float job.

The hogs back I reckon handles recoil well.............and your right the weatherby stock is great at handling recoil I have had Alan Naumann do two weatherby style stocks for me on my .416 and .585, Hogsbacks and weatherby's for me handle recoil well.

2 years to get one in what a heap of shit......................you would be better buying from the CZ connection in the states and paying someone to handle your paperwork to get it here. Thats what I hate about the Aussie Gun Trade no effort is made for the customer, it's whatever is easiest and suits themselves. Thats what results when you have a Monopoly
