I have an opportunity to purchase a used Steyr Mannlicher Luxus 7x57 in excellent condition. Stock has a few minor dents.

I don't know the date of manufact, but appears recent.

Anybody have an estimate of value ?

$1800 if its a full stock double trigger.

Lots of variables here. Full stock, half stock? Model M, model SBS?

Full stock, stamped "Luxus" on barrel. High gloss blued barrel. Not sure of Model #.

Examined yesterday.

In very small letters "V1181" stamped. Made in Austria. Stamped "Steyr, Secacus, NJ"

Barrel had the decorative swirl pattern. Single trigger.

the swirl is a by-product of the hammer forging and while it looks decorative it actually isnt.
is the rifle a tang safety or a push safety on the right side of the reciver?

Safety on right side of receiver

That should be a model M. Standard ones run about $1000-1200. A full stock Luxus in a metric caliber would up the value to around $1500 or so, more if it is minty or has nice figure in the wood.
