I have a little money so I went to a gunshow looking for a .260 or a 6.5 swede.found nothing I liked so I went to sportsman wherehouse.
they had a CZ 550 American, in 6.5 swede, I,m sure it would be a great rifle, but to me its to heavy for the cartridge.
BUT ! they had a real prety #1 in 300 win, and I like it. It was on sale for 638.00. Thats about what used ones go for around here and this one was brand new.
Prety classy rifle, I just might go buy the darn thing.
What do you think I could expect as far as acuracy.
of corse i handload and I would think I should be able get close to MOA, what do you think ? ...tj3006

I have a #1B in 300Win. I really like it. Over the last 10years I have read that #1s out of the box, some are good some are bad. The bad ones can be corrected. Mine shoots 3/4 in @ 100yds consistantly. One of my loads go less than 1/2 with 165gr Ballistics Tips. Unfortunatly I dont use that one for hunting. I am thinking about rebarrelling with a heavier barrel. Anyway, yes the #1s are a really neat rifle. If you do some searching on the "single shot" forum, there is a ton of info...

I picked up my first one a couple years ago in 7mmRM and love it. Shoots well and feels/fits great. Thinking about another, just haven't picked a caliber!
All I can suggest is if ya like it, buy it!!!
(If the relationship don't work out you can sell)

We Americans were tired of being thought of as dumb, by the rest of the world. So we went to the polls in November 2008 and removed all doubt.....let's not do it again in 2012 please.

My hunting partner has a #1 in 300 Win and just loves it... I've shot it several times and had good accuracy with it... It is bone stock and shoots right around 1 MOA with factory ammo so I can imagine what he gets when he takes the time to do some reloading...

Would be cool in a 300 Wby as well....

Ken....
