Are the stainless classic rifles really selling
for what they're priced at on Guns America.
I have two I think I might sell at these prices, a 338 & 7mag.

Just about any Winchester is selling for double what it sold for 3 months ago. The Supergrades and Safari Classics are fetching 1800+ new or used and there are multiple bidders fighting for them. Try to find one on a gun rack at your local dealer once... only if its your lucky day. One thing is for sure though, Winchesters are not Oregon made Kimbers and the prices are going to tank and leave an awful lot of people with a sick feeling in their stomach. On the other hand, some people are making tons of money on a lot of fools, hence the old saying...a fool and their money are soon parted. If you have one to sell now is the time to do it.

Interesting to watch the prices. I sold a NIB SS W70 375 for either 1800 or 1900 a month or so ago. After the gent bought it he mailed it back saying he didnt like the way the barrel fit in the stock. Then I watched him bid on another for a lower price. Finally I put the rifle back up on Gunbrokers where it brought 1400 and only two bids.
I think most of the hysteria has died down and prices are coming back to normal. But any rifle 375 H&H or bigger will still command at least 75% more than what it sold for new last year, if it is NIB.
I have carefully watched other Winchesters in calibers less than 338 WM and the prices have hardly changed since Win announced the closure of their plant.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I've seen several 300 win mag and 338 mags for $550-$600...one in a tupperware stock I bought the action only for $350.....If they are going bezerk it's not clear to me....I'm talking blued guns now.....all CRF as well.....but the interesting thing is that the push feed magnums are the same price.....at least from what I've seen.

I bought a 338 WM NIB Supergrade off Gunbroker 3-4 months ago for $900.00. This gun has a nice piece of wood and I am sure I could get double that today. I was thinking of taking it on my first trip to Africa but now I am wondering if I should just leave it in the box.

If people had been buying them, they wouldn't have gone out of business. Next year they will still be tha same rifle that nobody wanted last year just more expensive to those who bought them in a frenzy. There are better rifles on the new and used market.

I think there's a difference between "Winchesters failing to continue to climb as fast as they did previously" and "Winchesters dropping in price." I haven't seen the latter, and don't expect to. Five years from now we'll be discussing "pre-Smith&Wesson Winchesters," and how they contained no plastics...

I got a win m70 30-06 blued bbl synthetic stock. From wal-mart a few months ago (before winchester closed) for $300 on clearance to make room for newer rifles. It has had 42 rounds thru it bout how much could i get for it. Like new except for it being shot? Just wandering.

Remember Olin still owns the Winchester name and whomever they license will be building "Rwal Winchesters".
Therr is no law that says they have to be made in New Haven. I know tradition is a powerful force in firearms heritge but if it was that powerful USRA would stll be in business.
Price and value will always triumph over other "perceived values" to the great mass of buyers.
