anyone tried the ruger frontier in this with the 16.5 in bbl how does it work as far a velo. any opinions on this combination of 7mm-08 and short bbl

I had a 18" bbl. Sako for a bit. Vel. loss is pretty severe w/ small bores & short bbls.

My encore pistol in 7-08 gives me around 2500 fps with a 15 inch barrel with 140 gr ballistic tips and reloader 19. You'd probably be close to 2575 with the 16.5 inch barrel, more than adequate out to 250 yards

looking at ruger frontier in this but have just about talked myself out of it. due to velocity loss with factory ammo
