I have just sprung for some 175gr 7mm Swift A frames for my 7x57. I had planned to use VV data for for N160 which talks of a max load of 45.9gr for 175gr bullets in this calibre.

This sort of ties in with the Nosler partition loads which allthough not having data for VVN160 has the same data for VVN165 as the VV book.

However all the Swift data (phone conversation with technichian)seems much more conservative in general than the Nosler data - 2,300fps vs 2500fps.

Could someone just run these load combinations through Quickload to help me minimise wastage - these bullets are $2US each and I only have 50 of them.

Swift A frame 175gr spitzer
Vihtavuori VVN 160
COL - bullet seated to cannelure, haven't measured assume industry standard?

Max charge weight to give 50,000psi, likely velocity out of 24" barrel. Obviously I would work up to it.

Hope somebody can help

My Calculator program shows a starting load of 43.7 gr o N160 at 2460 fps with 41900 CUP and 48.6 grs of N160 at 2580 fps giving 49900 CUP.

How long are those bullets. I guessed at 1.2"
