From pigs to elk and everything in between, for more than 25 years the .270 served me like no other with lots of memories to share. If you do your part the .270 is an excellent killer. This great classic and superb Cal is as American as Apple Pie and Grandma. Forget about the rest and go for it. Success, Roland

I'd probably agree with you on that one. I've always wanted a .280. It's one of the favorites that I've never been able to hang onto. Someone's always wanted the ones I've had a lot more that I did. I've never made it into the woods with one, but I've shot several and tuned up several. I like 'em big time. I think the .270 is my favorite because it was there, and the .280 wasn't, but I wish it had been. It's a kind of "love the one you're with" thing. I actually do like 7mm bullet better than .277, because of their better ballistics.

if ranges are known to be inside 150 yards, how about a cz 527 carbine in 7.62x39. I am not sold on the CZ 550 yet I may one day I just love the older remmy long actions though, however I am sold on the little CZ
