X-Caliber FYI I finally broke down and purchased the replacement shroud/pin/spring from Midway for 700 short action. Just got back from the range after trying. 4 consecutive groups between .65" and 1.0" This with a factory barrel, Timey trigger, bedded with a pressure point. I think it made a difference for me. You may want to try it. Simple to install, no fitting. After replacing the unit, I did have to adjust the trigger. I took the original unit apart. The spring in the original was twisted when under full tension. I can see where the pin/slot could drag on the locking cam. BTW - I'm just north of Alpharetta

Not surprised. STill do not know what Remington was thinking when they came out with that POS. I replaced my assembly last year with a factory Remington trigger and the gun shot maybe a little better but it seemed the firing pin fall was crisper. Probably because there was no convoluted firing pin spring inside the bolt body. You can seel the ISS unit on Ebay..I did and someone actually paid me money for it 1/2 the cost of the non iss replaceme nt Working on my ISIS strategy....FORE
