Crazyhorseconsulting35 Whelen vs 9.3X62
In reference to the 375-06/375 Whelen, hasn't there always been a lot of concern on some folks part of headspacing problems. Didn't P.O.Ackley develope an Improved version?

As already stated, there isn't enough difference between the two to worry about. If I was going to use something unique, I would go with a 375 Hawk/Scovill.
How about either a
350 or 380 Howell?!?

GanyanaNever used a .35, but my 9,3's (have two of them) work on everything here in Africa. Have shot elephant, buffalo, hippo with them as well as all the "usual" stuff. I like the way the meat damage is relatively light on the plains game- typically less than a 30-06 with 150grn bullets. Most game runs though- I have shot one heck of a lot of impala (using the speer 270grn bullets). Even when you break both shoulders they still seem to move a short distance - Have never had any of the "lightnig" kills that I have seen on small & medium sised game that I have had when using a 7mm Mag or .300 mag.
