35 Whelen vs 9.3X62
In reference to the 375-06/375 Whelen, hasn't there always been a lot of concern on some folks part of headspacing problems. Didn't P.O.Ackley develope an Improved version?

Even the rocks don't last forever.

As already stated, there isn't enough difference between the two to worry about. If I was going to use something unique, I would go with a 375 Hawk/Scovill.

How about either a 350 or 380 Howell?!? Cool

Never used a .35, but my 9,3's (have two of them) work on everything here in Africa. Have shot elephant, buffalo, hippo with them as well as all the "usual" stuff. I like the way the meat damage is relatively light on the plains game- typically less than a 30-06 with 150grn bullets. Most game runs though- I have shot one heck of a lot of impala (using the speer 270grn bullets). Even when you break both shoulders they still seem to move a short distance - Have never had any of the "lightnig" kills that I have seen on small & medium sised game that I have had when using a 7mm Mag or .300 mag.
