Weeelllll, Where have you looked? What does Huntingtons show? How about Graf or Old Western Scrounger? If you can't find anything but Bertram, consider rechambering for a 30/40 Krag Imp Ackley. The interior contents are very nearly the same with the possible advantage to the Krag.

Another thing you could do is use 7X65R brass from RWS, neck it up to .30, and build a 7.62X63R (rimmed .30/'06)!! With the spring-loaded No. 1 extractor/ejector design, you might even be able to set it up to use EITHER rimmed or rimless '06 cases interchangeably!

*Chuckle* inventing the wheel ? Seriously, a rather similar (albeit 5 mms longer, and shorter-necked) cartridge exists for over a decade as a factory load; it is called .30 R Blaser, it has bred a limited but enthusiastic followership (of which I am not part), and is situated quite a notch above the .30-06 performancewise, already in the .300 area (also the case is a bit wider, to allow for reaming any old .30-06 chamber for the new cartridge).

Would the different shoulder shapes interfere with necking down the .375 Flanged? Would the neck require turning after being necked down that far?

Urdo, I'd actually grease the case up inside and out and full-length resize to fix the shoulder problem, then trim to proper dimensions. Neck turning might not be too bad an idea. I'd take out the ol' micrometer to make sure. I still think either the 30R Blaser or the Krag Imp would be an easier. Let's face it, the .30 Super is strictly a handloading proposition anyway and thus, for Safari purposes, qualifies as a wildcat. Yo' ain' gon' fine no 300 H&H Flanged in no gunshop in Africa!

So it seems. Mcgowan quoted me 500 bucks to put a new barrel on it, chambered for .300, with all my original barrel hardware remounted. I'd like to replace that goofy folding rear sight with a real two or three leaf folder though.
